Wheels poking out arches.

Is it illigal, well i know it is but do the police care?

Has anybody ever been pulled over etc cus of having their wheels pokign out the arches.

And no bumper on front, any problems with this, other than indicatiors?

Any help would be much apreciated, thankyou.

if you get the wheels right out try and get some tyres stretched on that will bring the tyres in a bit

True but to get a good stance id want them a good half inch/ inch out the arch, so streaching will be involved also, i like the view from the back of the car, makes it look fully wide/low.

Its just im out alot threw like 2-5am and always get pulled over by police, so i dont want to get points for my car looking sexy.

Least having a childs head stuck in your deep dish would be origional, some of the elites may hate on it though, isnt what a mk1 was made for….

if a person is that close to your wheels then they will get ran over anyway. But the tread just has to be inside the arch.

i had a mini for my first car and i had my rear wheels spaced out by about half an inch, the plods pulled me over and actualy took me to court over it!! managed to get away with it though cus i changed my spacers before the judge came to look at it outside the court!! :wink:

So are you saying dont bother with them poking out too much as i ended up with a court case already for not having insurance which i was paying for at the time…..

no u can poke them out abit but not too much, plods round me are very picky anyway.

Could imagine them doing somethign lame like taking ti off the road or somthing really over the top.

 Wheel protrusion past the wheel arches is illegal, can get your car prohibited from use, more commonly known as a PG9 and summons will follow and maybe points and a fine?

I have 8j rims on the rear of my cabrio and 195 45 tyres fo a nice but not extreme stretch, they fall exactly level with the arches :wink:


Oh and i am a wooden top too  so if you chooese to go wider and get caught by whatever police force it happens to be then ya cant blame the cops can you?
