CONTROLING PETROL PRICES!

please read and say what think i did not write it just a email i got of my work mate

See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it

We are hitting ? 106.9 a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced
with paying ?1:10 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea:

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day
campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just
laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves
by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it
was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up
with a plan that can really work.

Please read it and join in!

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to
think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive
action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place not sellers.
With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to
take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come
down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not
purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
Here's the idea:

For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two
biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP.

If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce
their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have
to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally
millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!!

Now, don't wimp out at this point… keep reading and I'll explain how
simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send i t to
at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)… and those 300 send it to at least
ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) … and so on, by the time the message
reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE
MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on
to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If
it goes one level further, you guessed it…..

THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all. (and
not buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take? If each of us sends
this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300
MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!!
Acting together we can make a difference . If this makes
sense to you, please pass this message on.

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 69p a LITRE RANGE

It's easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and buy your
petrol at Shell, Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons Jet etc. i.e.
boycott BP and Esso

here we ago again. the same suggestion that goes round every few months.
not being funny but it does'nt make any difference what so ever were ever you buy your fuel a huge amount of what you pay goes to the government yes oil firms are making profit but not as much per litre as you think.

theres a thread on here somewhere that will explain it for you.

I'm sure i said somehting like this ina thread somewhere not so long ago..

From working inside the petrol industry, they "product share". If you live within a 50 mile radius of an oil refinery, ALL the base petrol will be supplied by that oil refinery, the different petrol companies add their own additives at the time its loaded onto the tanker. So if you wanted to eg avoid Shell, and you lived in the NW, you'd have to make an 80 mile round trip to avoid a garage which sells it.

They'll be down on Mars bar sales, though…..nice try.

Good idea in theory, and thats about all really. Cant see this actually going to plan, but il avoid them just for the sake of it  :)

War is probably the biggest cost to the Government, and guess what its funding comes from taxes! So prob not the best idea. Unfortunately, the only real way to solve this is to use less fuel.

We should take a leaf from Bert here.. Get your MK1 on Veggie oil…
I run my van on veggie oil/Derv as mix, so what i save on fuel costs there, i make up for in the GTI..

Even tho thats now being slated as the demand for veggie oil has gone up, people are starving because fields are being used for that instead of food or trees etc..

Why not just stop spending on anything in petrol stations but petrol.
They make bugger all profit on petrol so if we boycott the things from there we don't need it puts pressure on the petrol companies.

  we are mugs in the UK……..our euro cousins dont accept being fleeced……….we are forced to pay extortinate rates of tax on everything! clothes, food, fuel, everything………..yet the same cotton, oil and produce are the same items world wide!

its a sign of greed on the powers that govern, anyone seen a poor politician lately? no………the longer people accept getting fleeced the more they will creep the prices up and fleece us more.

IF everyone bought petrol from 1 particular garage for 3 months then hurting the garages will have a knock on effect hurting the suppliers in hurting the volume purchased by the other petrol stations

Im afraid that Britain no longer controls its destiny.they have sold out all the major industries to foreign shores in the name of cheap labour and production facilities……….we dont get the benifit as the extra profit is all kept by the producers to line their own pocket! Indian call centres are the tip of the ice berg!!!!!!!!!!

This has little to do with the oil companies its simple TAX, TAX, TAX, TAX and in that order i cant remember the figure but i think about 60odd % is TAX, TAX, TAX if the fuel companies don't shift the stuff in bulk and we decided not to use it the price would poss go up so that profit margins stay level, stack it high sell it cheap TAX it to death. thats UK fuel..

Dont think anything we could do would make a difference, unless everyone in the country united (but that would never happen)

The strikes last time had a bit of an effect, but only for a couple of days..
imagine if the strikes went on and on and everyone stuck to their guns about it..

the economy would start to fail (more so than it is now) and yes we would be hurting ourselves but the government would be forced to react

Ok we'd probably all end up loosing our jobs etc, but something has to be done.. I dont want to go out and get a newer car that does better MPG..

I personally couldnt agree more…thats why i`m selling up and leaving!
The Europeans dont put up with any of this crap, especially the French or Germans who pay peanuts for housing etc compared to us plus their countryside is spotless, not like the rubbish infested place we call home.
I am sick and tired of hearing minted Politicians say its all for our benefit when the service you get here is third world yet we are fleeced for EVERYTHING.
Until people STOP  voting for the same crappy parties its never going to change.

keep on keeping on

as pointed out the main problem is tax. the forcourt only makes a couple of pence per l sold, and also as stated they share, i know for a fact tesco are supplied by esso, some of their express places that are part of a petrol station even say eo on them!

we pay a fuel duty TAX, along with the cost of the fuel, and then added to that sub total we pay VAT!!! so on fuel we are taxed twice!!!!!!!!!

I hate to say it but i would even consider living in france, as petrols not too bad and diesel gets a tax brake as it costs less to make and uses less energy to make it, and its cleaner,
