…actually, I have a British drivers license and I did not need to sit any test, so I think it's only for certain countries (maybe those that drive on the other side of the road and are not in the EU or something?).

I could not get insurance with an Australian license.

I could drive a car on an Australian license (eg, hire car), as long as I hadn't been in the country for more than a year. No probs: I was in and out for the first four years, so I used my Aussie license until I bought my Golf.

I was allowed to swap mine over after agreeing to read the highway code book to make myself aware of any differences between my country of origin's road rules and UK road rules.

Yeah but Australia and NZ ARE British!!! im talking places like Nigeria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Romania, Poland…….

you know places that supply us 100`s of honest hard working and consciencious people! and none of them are criminals or scroungers :wink:

I was down that way a few weeks ago visiting various mates who have moved down to the coast from the city. I also grabbed lots of Aussie music while I was back home…ahhhh…

I saw a total of one Golf Mk1 cabby on the road. One. Damn, it's gonna be hard to find one if I ever move back to Aus.

apparently there are about 10 in differing colours around the rosebud area, my uncle runs a garage and his constantly emailing and asking if i know colour codes.

yeah some (all/most) forign drivers suck, apparently if your hit by a forign driver registed (lets say poland) in their home land, some/ most insurance companys dont like getting involved? the most common polish to english used fraise that i hear is usually (point to tyre with hand and) hurgh!!!!! or     hoile with filtair?? just cant understand what they mean???

Aww, bless him. I guess if you're gonna have a cabby, Rosebud is the place to have one.
