Ok, try and remember that I am definately an amateur to all this, but pretty much the only hope of me trying to get this car started is to do it myself and all of you are probably the best resource to help me.

A new battery has been fitted, but it is not fully charged…radio turns on but cuts out if the volume is turned up too high, indicators work etc. Not THAT long a go, my uncle could start the car normally, after a while of just sitting on a drive, he tried one day and it would tick over but not start.

Now when I turn the key…it does nothing. Do you need a full battery to get the car starting properly?

Have cleaned spark plugs, distributor cab is all clean, petrol is going in.

What else can I check myself?

The battery is the most obvious thing as it pulls so much power out of them when you turn a car over, give it a good charge then try again, if no luck post it up on here again

Alexandria go for it  :y:

Ok, will do. Thanks a lot for getting back to me. If you have time look at the "calling card" I designed in the General Chat forum…just wondering what people think.  :D

Thanks a lot for the address and website. Had a look at your own one as well…the cars look great, some really useful information on there as well…should help quite a bit.

Plan to do anything else to the cars?

Thanks again,
