Mine taken on the one day of sunshine we got this summer . About 5 mins after I took this it pissed it down!!!!

Great colour, good condition too. Are they the BBS wheels?

Yes they are bbs wheels. They are off a sportline.
She looks like this at the mo, had full respray and new interior.

Love all the photos so far, soooo glad I have the car now!

If anyone has any photos of the interior and dash, post them too…would be good to compare with other cars.

Thanks muchly. My rubber gloves are at the ready 8O !!! Ummm thats not how it sounds, honest. I really wanted to give her a good scrubbing this afternoon 8O , Oh god this is getting worse!!!. I think i'll quit while i'm ahead.

8)  Heres mine……………….standard sportline (apart from BBS steering wheel :wink:  helps keep the original in A1 condition in my loft)…………….and slightly changed when i want it to be, on its wide BBS RM`s

All these cars are in such good condition, must have been so much work and time put into them. How do you ever know where to start?!

 the overhead ones my fav too, shame its not in a better setting! i bought this car exactly a year ago on the 26th Nov.
i have fully serviced it, cam belt, tensioner, plugs leads, cap rotor, alternator belt, coolan,t oil, filters, 4 tyres, 2 front shocks and top mounts, apart from that i really just polish it and use it.

I fully valeted it inside, under rear seats aswell!! and rectified a few little minor things like a non working leccy passenger window and a few dash bulbs behind the heater and ciggy lighter.
Fortunately it was a pretty spot on car when i got it, so i have just fettled it, driven it around fast  and slow :wink:  for a year in all weathers and its never let me down once!

In fact out of the 5 mk1`s i have had it drives absolutely faultless and the best and most comfy by far, so glad i bought it.

Oh wow, cool. Liked that message…can sort of act as a checklist of the things I should do, as well as replace the roof and sort out the cracks in the bumpers, and get it started. Blimey, there's so much to do!

What were the other Mk1s you've had?

for my first ever car at 17 in 1988 I had a 1978 S reg 1.6 GLS in polar white, then i got a Lhasa green non sunroof 83 GTI, while i still had that i got a mars red 1 1979 V reg series 1 GTI in need of tlc,  i also bought a B reg gun metal grey GTI cabriolet that was stolen revovered but a complete car.

then there was a gap of about 7 years without a mk1 :cry:  that time was taken up by a 220bhp Tornado Red Rallye golf, and my Highline VR6 which i still own 8)  and i bought the sportline last year, i had always wanted one, and as they say good things come to those who wait!! i was in the army in the early 90s and i could never afford the near 16k price tag for one back then, so fortunatley for me its previous owners all looked after it well  i doubt i would ever sell it as it would be too hard to find another thats as sound as this one

Yep, all cabbies were built by coachbuilders Karmann in Osnabr?ck.

I do love my GTI but i do like the sportsline too
