My Resto 1982.... New engine start videos.

Had abit of a nightmear today.
Where i had welded in a new bolt for the rear beam SOMEHOW i had put it in the wrong place so i couldnt fit the beam on when i went to do it today. Not cool.
Took me an hour or so ro rectify though so not to bad.

Had it on wheels on before i put the rear struts on so i could slam it on the jack. lol Got to the bottom of the jack and i still want it lower
Will have to buy some coilovers soon i think.

Anyway. Pictures.

Nothing worse when you do jobs wrong and have to redo them.  keep it up. ( The good work that is)  Keep you tailgate in the garage the same as well.

I live in Taunton,but was visiting a friend he lives on a new estate ,don't know the name ,that was where I saw your mk2 parked up.

A little update. It was raining the other day and the tarp was getting abitriped in the wind so i thought i would clean out the garage so i could roll it in and out now it is on wheels.
And also i dont need to protect the metal with loads of primer from halfrauds. Was getting expencive lol.

Also i thought it grind off all the rust that had grown since i had got rid of it the first time on the side of the car. I also bent a lip up round the hole where the sunroof was. I'm gunna bend it back down so there is a little bit of a stip so i can lay some fresh metal there to get rid of hole hopefully.
Also cut alot of rust out the left hand rain gutter.

Got my hot tuning coilovers today so i fitted them. And tryed my bbs's on for size. Think i will need some arch work.













Also did some arch cutting on the mk2 so i could have people in the back of it again. lol

Yeah thats the colour i think i have desided to paint it. But it may change by the time i get round to painting lol

Went to get some sheet metal yestrday and the place only took cash which i found out AFTER they had cut it and put it in my car for me and i had no cash and the bloke trusted me to go get cash from the cashpoint in town with the metal still in my car and come back. And when i came back (yes i did go back lol) they all laughed and the bloke that let me go sed i'd just won him ?50 lol Cuz his bos obviously had a go at him then they made a bet. lol

So anyway i am attempting to weld up the hole in the roof where sum1 cut into it for a sunroof.
Cant hurt to attept doing it. If it comes out rubbish which i expect it will i will get a new roof skin so dont worry. lol



Then i set aboud starting to smooth my engine bay.
When i wentto take the battery tray off all i cut was the support near the engine mount and the rest just pulled off. Obviously it had been replaced badly.
But it is a perfectly useable battery tray if any1 wants one.

good work mate it will all pay off in the end mine is nearly done after much welding and a year of hard graft but is looking good.


 

Some BASTARDS stole the center caps off my rm's!!! Whats the point!!
So thats like ?75 off eaby for a new set and then ?20 to get them powder coated. grrr

Anyway I bought some throttle bodys off a suzuki gsxr 1000 bike for my mk1 yesterday to cheer myself up lol
Hopefully will buy the abf 2.0 16v engine off ebay later

They are electronic choke though with a flap instead of the usual electronic choke where teh ecu just injects more fuel when the engine is cold.
so im not sure about that will have to do some reasearch if i can just take the actuator off and put a cable on with the fuel injection or if i will have to get it wired in.
Anybody used these before or can give any advice that would be brillaint.

YAY Finaly got a good deal on a 2 Litre 16v ABF lump
Gunna clean up nice i recon. . And will make the mk1 FLY.
CANNOT WAIT!
