Got my wheels back today
Well pleased

TAKE A LOOK!!!!



Put the old dish on one just to get a look as what they will be like.
And i like what i see.
Just need new 2.5 inch dishes now as aposed to the 1.5s on it there
And im thinking black bolts on them now cuz chrome ones would just blend in with the chrome dish.
My mind has been changed.

Black bolts would look good! Red and black is always good together!

Done some mods to my new daily that i think you will be interested in.






They will probely go on the mk1 when i finaly get it done.

I did the rear disc convertion on the rear beam earlyer and i have half term nest week so i am hoping to get it as a rolling chassis.

Need to get rid of the rest of the gunk on the bottem and give it a fresh coat of underseal.
Then i can get the suspention on.
Will be a big step if i can

Here is my efforts for today



Ground all the rust off the rear beam and the brackets, painted them with hammerite, fitted the new anti roll bar and fitted the powerflex poly bushs to the beam and new wishbones

Not bad for a days work.

Started on back half of car removing crap. Not nice job.
And then got fed up doing that and went and bought some underseal and started on slapping that on

Did the rest of the rear end today.
Hopfully i can do the undearseal on it tomoro then i will get the front wheel bearings pressed in the hubs then hopefully i can get it the right way up again and get it on some wheels

Nah aint got a deadline in mind.
I just get bits done when i can realy.

Ive got all my wheels done now and they are on my daily and this is how it looks atm

Today on the mk1 i got the rear pannel on and had a look at it with some wheels proped up and i couldnt stop looking at it lol

Every Mk1 resto needs its own calibrated stick for holding the boot open

Like the wheels on the Mk2 - not sure about the bonnet but that's just me…

Was just gunna say will be coming off that soon so will be for sale if you want it but just was ur location lol. it just bolted to the suspention mounts front and back and the side is just two bars sticking out and up the side with some angled bits to add stregth, then i had an axle stand on the roof edge while it was on its side to hold some of the weight.

So if any1 e;se wants the stand they can have it. Make me an offer. otherwise its just gunna be cut up.

Been working on the boot lid for sumthing abit easyer and i could sit down while doing it lol.
Smothed off the badge holes and the window wiper and then tested some colour on it.
This is NOT the colours the car is going to be!! Only did this to see what the colours would look like DEFINATLY not having both. lol









Im liking the green on it to be honest. the blue is nice but i dont think it will suit a mk1 golf. hmmm

Go with the green, has a proper early series 1 swallowtail look to it. :wink:

The shallowtail old look is what im going for tbh. and would of done the rear light convertion if i could of found a cheap pannel lol.

That blue does look nice on ur mk1 mate but the pic i have realy doesnt look like the paint in real life. seems abit chavy.
