Its definitely not all about the 2.0, they are the same if you're wiring them for K-Jet. Yes, you need the little ignition ECU and its loom for the KR conversion.

Yes, you need the little ignition ECU and its loom for the KR conversion.[/qu  ote]           you dont need a ecu ? if you got a old mk1 like mine  a 79 gli with a condencer use a dizzy off a old polo 8v with the over head cam . fits fine works very well .

Yep indeed, an alternative is to use a small block dizzy - but the advance characteristics aren't optimal for performance. Having said that, you'll only be missing out on a little bit of power.

Have you still got the car and does it run ok im having real problems getting mine to run right
