I wasn't being racist.. simply stating that I'm not moving to England!  Moved house twice in the past month, not up for it again!

Plus, it's England - why move there when my own country is so much more beautiful?

i can beat that i pay ?78 fully comp with the post office , but i am 40 and live in a nice quiet part of devon where the main mode of transport is a tractor

ive just had a 1.6gti re-quoted on a limited 3000 mileage and its ?180

No Im not 40 yet (2 years to go ) advance driver and class low risk by the Insurance (if only they knew what I do with works vehicles)

myold man did his advanced drivers, did all the lessons and everything came to the practical test and they wouldnt let him take it because he has 9 points!  

That's a bit harsh when someone's clearly trying to be a more safe & competent driver! What about all the money for the lessons?!
Anyway, I checked out insurance for a 1.8 GTi…?209 with legal cover included, no ncb protection, fully comp kept on a drive 8,000 miles a year (would commute in it). No garage. I'll have 6 years ncb soon and I'm female living a few miles inland of Scarborough. I want a GTI now…but this piggin diesel's gonna last another 200,000 miles I bet   Love it really.  :roll:

It was with 'Hero Insurance Services Limited' (never heard of 'em)…AA are a close 2nd. I'm guessing the 1.6 would be a tad cheaper.

Currently pay ?135 for the diesel TPFT as a daily driver. Last time I looked the 1.6d was a group 8 insurance  8O !

Where can you find out what group your Mk1 is in?

when ever ive had quotes 1.6 gti comes in about half the price of a 1.8gti.
