Ok guys just been working on my dash have got it bolted in, just need to sort out the wiring!
The dash needed a few mods because it had different mountings but my handy drill sorted it 8) it does not look like it had any mods done to it at all!

Yeah thats right, I never have any money for things like food! When you start doing one thing you think "ah well I really should do this too.." it just seams to go on and on and on and on

Almost got the dash sorted at the weekend, got to get the speedo cable done, anyone know where to get one from? Took so long to get the dash sorted because my brothers MK2 GTI wanted a new head gasket, so like normal I had to sort his first anyway took the mk1 out on saturday night, and on sunday moring it was full of water! :x I had fitted new plastic skins on inside of the doors to stop it leaking, so i got my hose out on sannday and the door dont leak! Think is coming in around the heater some where!

Diving the golf every day now (lots of fun) so I will be making a few changes to it. I have now fitted Bilstein suspension kit with Eibach springs and uprated antiroll bars! Now the handling is better and it goes over the bumps too! Here is a couple of pis from to day after it had a bath!!
Next I plan the stop the leak and fit new carpets and headlining from Newton Commercial!

Been busy making a new parcel shelf cos the old MDF one has a bend to it and is very heavy! I made up a wooden frame and fitted thin ply wood on the top, cut out the speaker holes and coverd it in the carpet from the old shelf! Couple of pics!
Fits in the car fine looks good, is lighter and stronger that the old one! I have also fitted the chrome strip along the top of the sills, too dark for any pics tho! Got my carpets and headlining from newton, so that a few jobs for the holidays!

Looks nice
Mine is on Eiback 40mm springs too. Do you find the rear ones a bit soft? I do.
I'm on Boge shocks mind, but that should only affect the rebound control, not their resistance to compress.
I have 15" ats cups too on 195/50's at the rear - should be 45 profiles, but they came with really good 195/50's on.

The rear is a bit soft the tyres catch the arch with my brother in the back! I have 195/50/15 tyres on it! I thought that they were ment to be 50s! I have always had 50s and so have a few mates! 45s would make it a bit lower!

I have ordered a set of spring assist rubbers to reduce the compression, but not the ride hieght.
Are your arches rolled?
Only one of mine is, but both rub.

The front are rolled but not the back, fair bit of filler in the back ones! Will weld in new metal one day! Let me know how the rubbers are, may do the same my self! Moved my mini out my shed so should be starting to change the headlining soon, maybe tomorrow, will take a few pics!

Started changine the headlining over christmas! First job was the remove the windscreen and the rear windows then the sun visors and anything else thats anywhere near the lining! I'm fitting the new lining from newton commercial and it looks very close to original material, its also made a bit too big so you can tension it then cut off the extra!
windscreen removed
lining removed
The C post is the worst the material is flat but the C post is not!
Might try and gently warm the material to see if it can be shaped!
