i can't make it i'm at a family barbeque and it is a little short notice, How about…

The Wiggin Tree

Sunday 5th august

2.00pm onwards…

would be a good chance to catch up / meet new faces / admire lovely cars before the big gaydon bash / vw tatton park show.

if someone who's been to the wiggin tree before could post up some directions to the meet that would be fantastic.  :D

OK, you started the thread so you pick the date and venue.

I can't come cause I'll be bailing out my tent in Devon and floating on my air bed for a week.

Have fun

The address is

The Wiggin Tree
Parbold Hill
Parbold
Wigan
Lancashire
WN8 7TG

From the M6, off at junction 27, take the B5029 towards Parbold for 2.2 miles and the pub is on the right at the top of the hill.

Be careful when crossing the oncoming traffic as they can approach quickly.

If the weather is bad then I may be able to make it if we don't go camping.

just an idea but if you make it something like 'the 2nd sunday of every month' its easy to remember and people can arrange around it in advance if they want to :dontknow:

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

keep 'em coming folks, i'm open to suggestions / comments etc. i like the idea of every second sunday.
As for the location its going to be difficult to please everyone, it may be worth considering rotating locations, the wiggin tree one month, preston brook the month after, something along those lines. What say you?

Arron, the weber runs nicely, still a little high but the timing is out on the car, hoping to have it sorted asap, oh, and it is a bit a thirsty!

Alright Manch…… I mean North West Region. How's it going?

I'm not going to be able to make this weekend's meet. My car looks uncared for and I'm moving to Liverpool. Bonus is that new house has a garage already reserved for the MK1. So mine is coming off the road now until next summer really it's been a daily driver for almost a year and has suffered for it (there's stickers coming off and everything). I'll probably try and make it to regional and national meets every now and again in my uber exciting Passat TDI. Woop Woop….. how dull.

Which of you are in the Liverpool area?

i thought i'd just add my 2p's worth….the wiggin tree is a pretty good location to be honest, great views out over southport/blackpool and wales (on a clear day!) the car park is massive and theres a lay-by on the opposite side of the road that can hold more cars - if needed. Plus if you manage to get lost between junction 27 of the M6 and the pub…well you need shooting to be quite frank, its a straight line through wrightington and appley bridge straight to the top of the hill.

Also its just been refurbished aswell, been shut for a good few months, and they do brilliant food in there aswell.

I'm working sunday the 5th until 4.30, but if this is still on and everyone is still about around five/ half five-ish then i'l gladly come aswell.

cheers,

John.
