Chrome Strip Wheel Archs

Hi guys,

Talking about being rare Tafy has chrome strips on his wheel arch's now I believe these are quite rare..!

I havn't seen them on many.

Dubboy has told me a bit about them does anybody else have these?

I've never seen them before - not even on a CL the same colour and year as yours! Seems a bit of a weird item to have as an optional extra from VW though? Keep hold of 'em!

They used to be avaliable at motorists shops,they come in a roll,just cut and stick  :wink:

They do look great and I did have my suspicions about them being quite unique I have never personally seen them before on any Mk1's.  I will definitely be keeping them, they make him stand out from the crowd.

they are definitely not stick on strips they are molded to the wheel arch.

When we have our Cornwall meet on Sunday Dave you can have a look, I know the sticker is still there on the left hand side.

Can't see chrome listed by VW as attachment or moulding for the arches I'm afraid (just shows standard and GTI plastic arches). Maybe dealer fit, but probably not genuine - does the crhome go under the plastic rear arches?

there is no plastic on the rear arches.
there is still some metal tho :lol:
with the chrome all the way to the bottom under the bumper

Dave,

You will have to inspect further when we meet on Sunday and poss take some more pics of that specific part to post a closer look.

thats ok then cos its nothing like it! :lol:

its the same as the stuff round the windscreen in type, but has a slit to take a panel edge.
