GTI Hot Hatch Spectacular - York Raceway, Mon 27th August

Copied & pasted from http://www.york-raceway.co.uk/events.html. Looks interesting, although I've never been to York raceway. I'll certainly be driving my car up the strip a few times….it will be its first outing after I've completely optimised the fuelling, etc.



27 August                 GTi Hot Hatch Spectacular

Monday 27th

-GTi club day

-GTi / Air Cooled Challenge: old dub vs. new dub -the Beetles take on the GTis!

-RWYB for GTis, hot hatches and modifieds

-GTi special demos, including show & shine, cruise parade and GTi shootout  (Main Pit area)

-Run What You've Brung (Midway pits)

-Armourgeddon Fast Trax

Its a good venue Paul - well worth the drive over

Yeah, bit too far from Bognor Regis! Still, this show will allow me some tinkering time on the drag strip, because I know you will be tinkering with your modules at every possible opportunity, ready to lose by 0.2 secs against me at VW Action!

not sure thats going to happen again ive got the car dialled now

holds 1bar of boost pretty much all the way now :wink:  :wink:

best you get tinkering still got 20% duty cycle on my injectors to use

Dont be scared like Chudd it all adds to the fun

just keep an eye out for the hill billys in the pick up at the entrance playing the banjo.
If you get cracking Chudd you might even get your car done for then :roll:

Errrr rewind…!!! There's potholes….on the drag strip….???

Or just on the entrance road? Do I have a chance of getting my 90mm lowered car there, given that I lost half my spoiler on the grass at GTI Inters (and seemingly got away with it, since nobody had a camera) and also managed to wipe out the "Mk1 Golf Owners Club" wooden sign (but that's another issue still).

The road in , in fact make that a track is a night mare and if its wet [don't ask] very muddy . I swore last year i would never go again .

May be going again !

cheekey well the mk2 is the new mk1 but an engine change is on the cards when I find one

FOXYMK1 on here is selling a 20VT engine without manifold and turbo for ?250  8O

oh dear thats not good how do I tell the misses
