The two front seats are of the 'passenger' variety, therefore, I'll need to remove the seat covers on one & swap the release mechanism over to the drivers side before installing. Will probably give the whole set a good wash as well. While I've got the seats out I'm going to run some speaker cable under the carpet for the new rear speakers.

Looks like the weather may take a turn for the worse mid afternoon on Sunday:  :cry:

i also have to do this, with the seat clips.  how you gonna do that? i was gonna cut it off one end and weld it on the other side.

because the bolts on the seats are too tight.

Apparently, there is a mounting for the lever on both sides of the seat (once the covering has been removed, hopefully all will become apparent)
only problem will be covering the original release lever position. Was thinking of possibly leaving that in place & having two  :dontknow: … either that or it'll need to get re-trimmed at some point :wink:

Sorry folks, after a long discussion with my wife, I lost. I didn't get the Clipper taxed. Have you ever tried to explain to a woman about cars when all they think is that it would be a waste of money to tax a car when it's august in just over a week. I'll try & pop up on sunday in the sensible family car for a wee look.
Just wondered if anyone would be interested in a wee meet at the end of August. Maybe at the Falkirk Wheel, as it's quite central for Glasgow & Edinburgh. Nothing to do with the fact that it's quite near me, but hey, God loves a tryer. But seriously it would be great to actually get to a meet, before the weather starts to get bad (as if this is good)

Just a wee question while I'm on. I bumped into a pal who said he's just bought a white Mark 1 Gti Cabriolet with a black roof from up in Perth. Anyone know any info about it. He just wants to know if it was looked after ok.

He's just went on holiday today, but he's striping it down & getting it resprayed before he puts it on the road anyway. Like I said, I'll try & get up in the family car anyway.

full new brakes pipes frontand back, flexis and wheel clyinders.
new carb, probably a weber.
new spark plugs.
new distributor leads.

im gonna attempt to do the fuel filler pipe tomorrow if i can grab some axel stands.

so i dont think ill be on the road till mid september means getting tax for the bloody merc!!!

I'll be in Glasgow at around 1 day, i'm looking for some stuff for my holidays, so might be in a bit earlier, but will be stirling bound from glasgow at about 1ish…

Any of you any good at fitting stereos?  (got an alpine head unit needing fitted, should I bring some scissors and black tape?)

Just got my mk1 cabby with black hood. From Auchterarder
Had to leave it in England this weekend tough as not set the camber up yet and do not want to rip my lovely new 8" wide rubber tyres up just yet,
Can't wait for the bloody summer, just my luck getting a cabby and it rains all year. oh well never mind there will be others
