can do it. i think it'll cost a good few bob plus agro though. pretty sure states had quite a few rabbits with aircon.

Don't think it was ever available in the UK, but it was elsewhere, so you could in theory find and fit all the bits. Unsure about anyone who does aftermarket aircon.

I myself have "260" air conditioning - 2 windows open at 60mph!

Could you get the stuff from a Citi golf and fit it, there's a few knocking around so you might be able to find a breaker.

center vents in pic,switch by ash tray

Bert, do you know if the system in the Citi is essentially the same as the air con available from early on, eg for USA cars?

this is a south african system,its not a vw fitted system,its a Crisp Air set up,the pump is a sanden 7203 standard pump,the pipes are nothing special,the front radiator is a universal thing you can get from anywhere,the internal bit is the problem,the fusebox has been moved to allow the other fan motor to be fitted,the dash is different for the vents and the cooler,there are no trays in the middle or passenger side anymore,the top of the dash is untouched though,it can be removed in a few hrs and put back to standard.
rabbit aircon  :dontknow:  never seen one in the flesh,i know the diesels even had aircon as if they arnt slow enough
