I think the phrase 'reversable modifications' is the key to tasteful modifying.

I agree, the best looking modded mk1's that i have seen, have simply been lowered, with nice wheels (no bigger than 15" and usually bbs or ats), easy as that!!

Its the edition 38 mk1 thread. You might have to register to have a look but its worth it. The best modded ones on there are series 1's which have simply been lowered + wheels + original colour re-spray!!

nothing at all, you can't beat a standard mk1, just saying as a simple but effective mod, in my oppinion the worst modding crime against mk1's (i don't mean to slag anyone's car off by the way) are mk2 golf parts or look a like parts on a mk1, especially grills, AHHHHHHHH!!

I'm now mk1less, ahhhhhhh!
