Info about the car…

Reasonably tidy mk1 golf, one small knock on rear quarter panel & slight rust on bottom on both drivers and passenger doors (2 replacements supplied but require painting)

floor pan and floor free of rust, small sill damage on drivers arch near jacking point, may need a bit of welding, small garage job id imagine

1st gear selection requires going into 2nd first before 1st

Odometer doesnt work but car is currently on 120k this is the mileage of the engine currently placed in. At last MOT the recorded mileage on the car was 86k.

Recent headgasket and cambelt change, car runs VERY well and is proper spritely will outdo many many cars on the road and make a proper example of them, possible sports cam or headwork has been done on the engine but i cannot be certain, however the speed difference between this and my 1600i are VERY VERY noticable.

Runs slightly rich, idle around 1.5-2k after a good thrashing.

Heaters all work fully, as do all electrics bar the horn it may be a fuse or relay.

Requires a new inner cv joint - passenger side - 36 + vat from eurocarparts

tax aswell then you can drive away

currently has no grill surround.

its been an ormament on my drive for the last three months, used for the occasional drive when my other mk1 was on the road.

i wish i had a garage to store both my babies in but i have to sell one to make room for a mk1 polo

i have seen this before on here, wasnt this a stolen car???

i was stopped 4 days after i bought it and told it was reported stolen 2 years prior…

it turns out that the owner who had it stolen from him had recovered it 2 weeks later and forgot to mention to the police that he had infact found the vehicle. Therefore for the last two years it has been marked as stolen.

Got the go-ahead from Mrs Plod yesterday to tell me that its all been sorted out and the mark has been removed and the DVLA's records have been updated.

Therefore i am legally allowed to keep, sell or dispose of the vehicle.

now after 700 to take her away,

need to re-invest the funds into a new engine, 280mm brakes, rear disc conversion, fannymold and exhaust…

didnt realy see it as it was dark

no idea what she will need for the mot as its not gone in for a test yet, it still has mot till middle of july…

i took loads of pics yesterday but cant get them up unless i can get access to a friends pc so ill try over the next few days..

Mate as much as i would love a gti, i don't have anywhere near that amount parts (or cash) unless you'd take 2 rusty ganbia red doors and 2 rusty front wings. Just to sweeten the deal i'll throw in a dented bonnet.
