I had black mohair hood supplied and fitted in January for ?325 - piccies here:

They would supply and fit Vinyl hood for ?275

Yep…
Hood alone is ?225. I thought 3 hours of wandering around croydon shopping centre and ?100 wasn't too bad a deal for someone else to put the effort in to fit the damn thing. Price also included new side cables…

Yeah, definitely - it's a pretty crap job to do apparently. Mine was ?490 all up but I am really happy with the results. I didn't know any other trustworthy upholsterers and this guy came recommended by a mate with a VW bus (and he was around the corner from where we both worked - bonus!)

remember tho that if theres any problems with the window frame ie the dreaded rust it can be handy to get the job done over a couple of days.
hood replacement is not a tricky job theres a good guide on here somewhere. hth
