hello all

hi all, new to the site. just wondering what the crack is? im based in waterford, ireland. im originally from hull in east yorkshire. (greatest county in the world) im into all VDubs but the mk1 golf is my favorate.

thanks golfgal, as you can see, she aint quite finished yet. she needs a resprey and that daft exhaust removing! looks like a cannon! some young boyracer put it on. i have a few projects going on at the mo, so the mk1 is slowly getting there. should have seen it when i got it! im restoring a jetta, corrado G60, mk2 GTI, my mk1 and getting another mk1 at the weekend. also doing a bit of work on my daily driver. (mk4 GT TDI)

u have a mighty good taste in cars! wish i could afford to have them all! i had to sell my mk4 GTTDI so i could get my cabby (well worth it), and eventually, after iv left uni (1 month-yay!) and saved a bit i want a corrado, and keep the cabby as a summer car.  8)

oh yea, and exhaust is mental. looks sooooo wrong

tell me about it! was looking to modify a mk2 GTI back box to fit the mk1. i think the twin pipes would look great! but also, not over the top.
i got all the cars quite cheep off my other website. its an ireland based site so i hope the mods dont mind me advertising it, its www.vagdrivers.net
we organise and set up meets and events all over ireland. this coming weekend we are going to Glendalough. its a mountain range south of dublin that meets with the coast. great for photo ops! its good for meeting people with the same interests and just going for a spin. plenty of info and loads of people on hand with the knowhow.

sounds good     never been to ireland myself, but iv always wanted to go. been told its beautiful. I've just bought a new exhaust for mine. a supersprint one, got it thru work, and not too expensive either.  nice and subtle with a slightly oval end. sounds nice as well. just need to get the hood and interior sorted. its triple white, so am looking for a new white/cream mohair hood, and need to get the interior seen to. not sure what to do about it cos its very grubby in places, especially drivers seat…very worn, but in other places, its in good nick   :?   dont know whether to get the whole thing re-done or just the drivers seat. decisions, decisions!!

try otto, there good for parts, or, german auto parts. i deal with both, really good service. i would go for a full re-trim myself. nice cream leather. or get the seats that are in my mk1, rare to find in that condition, (took me 6 months to find!) got them from germany. look mint!

yea im thinking of leather. no point doing the interior til i get the hood done cos it leaks a bit     need to find somewhere localish and with a fitting service. get my last bit of student loan next monday, so a new hood mite be on the way very soon!!

your in burton on trent aint ya? i used to live near you! 8O go to GTI international, they always have stands there for parts and services. will give you the info if ya like?

my permanant home is burton, but i have a house in leeds cos thats where im at uni. whereabouts did u used to live? yea gimme info  :wink:

i lived in tamworth. and im from near leeds!
GTI international is in bruntingthorpe, 16-17 of june. not to far from burton.

no way!! i used to live in tamworth!! grew up there! discovered my love for dubs wen i worked at my step dads vw garage in lichfield….Mackenzies VW Audi specialists. u heard of it? he's not my step dad anymore so u can say wot u like  :wink:   cheers for info!

yea i know it, i was in the army for a good few years so i know lichfield camp. was never stationd there, just know a few of the lads. where in tamworth did you live?

various places. my mum likes moving house  :roll:   first i lived in wiggington, then haunton, then clifton campville, then statfold (on ashby road) they're all small villages around tamworth so u mite not have heard of them! went to school at rawlett. wot about u? where did u live?

i know i few people from rawlett. small world. lived in coton  green. you might know them if your the right age?
