It is still receiving an electronic input from the hall sender on the speedo

I guess so…everything else is connected as normal, but readings are similarly wrong as with vacuum connected - I suppose it simply confirms that the vacuum unit isn't working at all, and hence connecting it makes no difference..
I'll try investigating this when I've sorted all the more serious problems, but in the words of the Godfather 'that day may never come!'

Just realised that i have no reversing lights, the fuses and bulbs are okay.

So i suppose its the switch on the gearbox???

Would this also affect the MPG gauge gear change indicator???

Have sucked on the vacum tube defo no leaks, also have a definite vacuum on the manifold point.

Just thought i would post that after a while of driving now the MFA on setting 2 is recording an average of 41MPG, this is after re-soldering the parts inside the cast ally part on the back pf the dash clocks.

Hope this helps in the overall investigation of the MFA mystery

really!  this is pretty interesting.  I have to go on a long run tom - let me set mine to setting 2 & see if I get a similar result.

Had a chat with the electronics guys a couple of days ago.  They are zeroing in on the problem & have two test clusters for development work.

Will keep you posted.
