Yet another great resto. Well done.

Nice colour.

Current MK1 rebuild elapsed time - 15 years and counting…
Is it normal to clean and paint bits of your car that will never be seen?
Not-so-new addition - 1996 MK1 Citi Golf (off the road for 4 years… and counting)

this is going to be a nice restore….

can you tell me what you call this item in the below picture, (clip) the ones on my rear beam on mk1 GTI are missing so need to replace..

They're still available from VW - part no.  171 511 453

The hoop of steel is also available from them, although that part number isn't clear on vagcat.

that looks very nice, looks like all the hard graft has paid off. good job  :D

the wheels/colour/bumpers are good combination and really set it off.

looking good mate - just got me another mk1 yesterday - cleaning up nice but needs the boot spraying - i'm in preston - which body shop did you use and would you recommend them?

my new project - no plastic arches - quite like the look without so may leave them off.
