Just a few pics of my mk1, body hopefully going for rust and paint doing soon.
So want to get it back on the road.
Litte bit of info…..1983 mk1, Had some BRM work at some time, so puts out roughly about 130bhp(i think)
It felt quick before Is stripped it. :D
I want to use it to help promote my drawings and to get back into the show sceane.

Get it done quick mate, or be prepared to leave it a couple of years. You will not know what has hit you in the first 6 months.

While body is away getting paint (due back soon! :D )
Decides to work on engine/gearbox
So fitted new exhaust gasket/inlet gasket/clutch-pressure plate/rocker gasket
/sump gasket/all studs-nuts/painted block/painted gearbox-oil cooler-oil filter neck-water pump etc etc… you get the idea

Think it looks ok.

Yes I know I made a sod of masking the ring gear off !

All paints used are hamerite smooth silver and there special primer, and I had the box sand blasted first.

Good luck mate. Even more so when the family increases in size.

Current MK1 rebuild elapsed time - 15 years and counting…
Is it normal to clean and paint bits of your car that will never be seen?
Not-so-new addition - 1996 MK1 Citi Golf (off the road for 4 years… and counting)
