Boot light

Well I guess I shoud hold up my hands as a newbie too.
 :dontknow:

Spent six month thinking this was bust. Then tried it with the lights on at the weekend and guess what……….IT WORKS.

Seems like a bloody silly design too me, as if dealing with all the problems of a vinyl roof arn't enough.

This one drove me potty as well  - tested the switch worked fine, as was the wiring etc, very silly design idea. whats worse is that I spent an hour figuring this out, (never get that back lol).

The reason

its because there isnt a constant live available in the boot to power the light, so its supplied by the side light live, hence only on when the lights are on.

I only worked this out, when I trying to repair all the lighting wires in my boot in the summer, and found to my suprise that it worked.

but lets not get so excited, its not that good light, best solution I can think of would be to park near a street lamp instead.

even better idea!

I could post you my old reverse switch, which keeeps your reversing lights on permanantly, mine were on for a whole month before anyone told me, then youd be able to see. The reason i say this is that mine seem the light the boot up far better than whats coming up behind you !

Snap! 2.5 years and I thought my boot light didn't work. I just tested it and it works fine. Strangely enough, my internal light has just started working when I open the driver's side door. The button wasn't pushed in - it just never worked (well, maybe for half a second on some days), and now, it works *most* of the time!
