My MK1 is possessed....

I am convinced my car has been possessed  :evil: !!!  In the year and a half I have had her, she has had the following:
Re-welding of the bulkhead
New clutch and clutch cable
CV joints
Fan belt
Rear cylinder brakes and brake shoes
Gear box and drive shaft
Wheelbearings
Exhaust (fixed the hole!!! - sounded like a diesel tractor - not pretty)
Fixed windscreen wiper to stay on the windscreen and NOT clean the bonnet (kept falling down) - now to figure out why water won't come onto the windscreen  :dontknow: (learning how to drive like Ace Ventura hanging out the drivers window when I can't see through the dirty windscreen   )
Tracking (several times)

Last night the near hub went ………..   

It has to be the love of the Mk1 that stops me from abandoning the car.  At this rate, I am going to have to learn how to smoke dried dandilion petals as the mechanics are making a fortune out of me  :mrgreen:

Know how you feel we bought a campervan the other week and since we brought it home my mk1 has been playing up had two water hoses go in as many weeks the second one resulted in the AA coming to my rescue as I was in the middle of nowhere. Now ordered all new hoses.
Had a flat battery twice last week (now replaced) and my steering wheel keeps working itself loose! Cant think of anything else Littlerolfs done this week but going out for lunch in a minute and if theres any puddles of water/oil or anything else underneath then I will not be happy!!!!

Thanks Pricie …. but then I would have to give up my "dedicated parking space" at the mechanics garage, I wouldn't be invited to all their functions no more, no more hanging over the bonnet with a man fiddling with the engine ………  oh how boring my life would be

The joys of owning a 20 year old Mk1!

This month hasn't been too bad so far for me… split hose, dead battery and 2 new tyres (1 of which has gone flat today whilst the missus was on the M2.  She took the security key and jack out of the car the other day cos she thought she wouldn't need them     )

Balls.  
A passerby managed to change the tyre for her (how? :dontknow: ) and put the spacesaver on.  Just had another phone call from her saying the spacesaver has just shredded.  I think my car is almost as possessed as yours Anji.  Or its just my car's 'time of the month'?

I have had to replace my battery this year, and both back tyres, weld a piece of the back passenger rim, replace both wing mirrors replace water hoses and fix radiator, then we swiftly moved on to the wind screen and rubber, still needs small piece welding on the bottom right hand side just under windscreen, I am currently waiting for the parts to replace from my engine fire which demolished, choke cable, eccelarator cable, fuel lines, fuel pump, air pan, air filter, all plugs and leads and has left me with a huge scar on the bonnet from the flames and the heat…..!  All of this is a huge amount of work for myself being a girlie but I am neally there…phew.  And then to top it all off my passenger footwell is like the local beach and I cant locate the water leak…aaarrrggghhhh!

But apart from that Tafy's great…. :wink:

Ladies first…..  

OHHH i think maybe i beat all of ya for possed cars

???? on having the whole back end of my car basically rebuilt coz of rust
both back arches need redoing also
new hood frame and hood , new glass and sills to stop the leaks !!!
engine is about to die on me
interior is buggered coz of said drip , and no doubt both front footwells are bout to go through as the amount of rain that come into my car  
all my tyres are nackered as is one alloy and cant find a replacement
brakes feel dangerous as both brake lines snaped when went in for welding and just doesnt feel right now replaced
ohh yer and the phycotic screaming noise that my car has decided to produce all the time now not just when wet
( fan belt desp needs changing )
my drive way is covered in oil …….

everyone i know thinks ive lost the plot wanting to fix my stupid car and i can really see where they are coming from but at the end of the day when its all fixed my car will be the db's and this is what i hold on to when i yet again empty my bank account
i just dont care , she belongs to me and i will not give up
believe me i understood what i was gettin myself into my gosh its a 25 yr old car and to think id get off scott free was more than wishful thinking  
ive always wanted one since i was a child and no amount of mishaps will divert from that dream , on the plus side my car will be parctically new !!!

still love her always will lmao @ me !!
