Why we like our oven tin tops over cabby's

:dontknow: at this very moment I really don't know!

I was sooo hot driving on my lunch that if I had a tin opener I would have made it into a cabby!

I envy all Mk1 cabby owners at this minute in time

so come on, any other tintop drivers wish they could drop the roof in this heat?

They're terrible in the winter though, when it rains - open the door and you get a wet leg!   Such a nuisance!!  :(

Why have one?  For weather like this of course :D

But I'll envy you in the winter.

Dubboy, all you need now is a caddy to complete the set

(oh no, what have I said that for)

think if I ever convince the girlfriend to let me have a 3rd car it'll be a cabby, maybe a sportline  8)

they are lovely, soon as you get in and that hot air hits you you just pop the roof down and it exits !

nope. not jealous at all.

all you have to do is open the window.

and you don't look ridiculous in a tin top.  :)

Yes, that's the one! There wasn't much of a description and I took a chance on buying without viewing as didn't have time. I saw it yesterday though and am well pleased. Just a couple of minor issues, but by far the best Series 1 Cabby I have seen.  :D  Indeed the lady owner didn't really want to sell! Can't wait to pick her up and get the roof down. Hairdressers Club here I come

And the price wasn't too bad either. If I hadn't got my Clipper the other week and still been in the market I would have been very intrested.

These old immaculate finds do have their own problems though, just sorted the brakes on mine, the fluid was like black sludge, don't think it had been changed for years if ever….. 8O

Looking forward to seeing that Rajan  :D

I prefer the tintop cos it's faster and handles better.  but in this weather i'm driving around in the cab (only cos I broke my gearbox   )

Problem solved:

If you can't choose, have both! In all seriousness though, having one of each and being able to do a back-back comparison means I can usefully add to the debate. Although I need to factor in that the cabby is only a GL Auto, not a GTI. If I had to choose, I'd go for the………………hatchback.

Fairly neutral on this - lucky enough to have the choice
