yes the filler surround is on a little pissed by the time i'd noticed it was to late i'd welded it in me bad! ops:volkswarren Posted: Tue Jun 13, 2006 12:29 am Post subject:
don't think you've put the fillerneck pannel in right mate.
i went to a mates house one day and saw it on a blokes drive. found out he had it for 15 years and half that had been sat on his drive. the floor pan and everything that counts is sound just gone rotten round its self unfortuanally.
the rear drivers side chassis needs some cutting out and re welding in but thats no problem the thicker the metal the easier to weld as i keep blowing holes in the body work which means more welding but i'll get there.
the best thing about it is the 1.6 diesel engine and the steering wheel i do believe it is a wolfsburg german gti steering wheel. it is actually an import as the reg docs say st registered abroad and i am the third registerted keeper but still she needs a little (lot) of tlc. and the best bit the misses hates it and the son loves it ( hitting it and using my tools anyway)
