right then people, soory i havent been leting you know how i have been getting on with the carbs conversion as a few things went tits up, like the carbs falling of, and refusing to stay attached etc over fueling not enough fuel etc etc one prob after another,

i have been doing bits and bobs to it n the past week, i have made a bracket up either side of the carbs to hold them in place to the engine so they dont slip out of the silicone hose. i have a fuel pressure gauge but know i have ran out of fuel pipe  :banghead:  will get some tomoz and then should be up and running (cross fingers cand touching wood!) going to be doing a few otjher bits and bobs this weekend before i bring it on the road like finishing smoothing the kit and finishing under sealing, oh yea i have had my new back box put on to, twin ovals so got rid of that crappy massive cannon thing on the rear! lol

will keep you all informed and hopefully gona get some pics up :D

got it all up n running now, im doing abit of sanding still and smooithing ready for the old respray

right then, took the golf out last night down a few bypass's (hehe) :D  and gota voice recording on my phone (nokia 6630)

i have a data cable and have transferd it on to my computer, but cant send it or upload it as its in nokias format, im downloading the nokia multimedia converter, but if this doesnt work any one know of a convertor i can use?? the files .mmp (i think)

Nokia Multimedia Player is the nuts… 8)

Much smaller than their multimedia converter, but with all the functionality. Only trouble is it will want to play all your media clips from now on unless you're careful…

Nice work by the way! Are you keeping the wheels?

Soz Simon - spent the whole day yesterday on the golf so I haven't got back to you until now…

Anyways, if you get stuck again, give me a shout on here - most likely I'll be at work so I'll see it :D

I can't believe I only just seen this thread!! 8O

Cracking conversion. 8)  I had a 1961 MK1 Mini on 1098cc with twin dellorto motorbike carbs from the 60's - sounded fantastic and went like a rocket!!

Please e-mail me the clip, would love to hear it!

How does performance compare to a 1.8 8V gti?
