You should drink more water.

So you decided to clean off the original wax in the end?
Seriously, very nice. I cant wait to see this car in the flesh one day.
I've used your pics as a reference to where cables should go a fair few times now!

My bay looks a fair bit cleaner than this now, this was when I first got the car.
Sorry for being cheeky BTW, just thought you might like to know.

Bent thingy!

Here's where I thought the crease was…
I guess it is a very straight bend so maybe it is factory bent!

Its odd that VW kept making changes to components right up until the very end of production. Its also strange that some late GTI cabbys are Kjet and some digifant….
I Think that answers Tomo's question, but you don't see many in the UK.

Kjet and Digifant!

First time I've seen a digi engined Mk1. I guess VW must have run out of Kjet metering heads towards the end………….

The digifant is electronic injection rather than mechanical injection, you can see the metering head is different and the Idle Stabilisation valve is different. Thats the cylindrical bit between the rocker cover and the inlet manifold. There's an ECU where your 'bent' bracket is!
I read somewhere that the digifant setup on the Mk1 gives a lower BHP than the Kjet but this is probably due to a CAT being fitted to the cars.
