Has to be my 91 Astra GTE 8v. This thing went through air flow sensors and power steering pumps for fun. It leaked from sunroof and rear screen despite several atempts to stop, drivers seat colapsed on the motorway, you couldn't stop the rear arches from rotting, pretty much every panel was a different colour (the rear spoiler ended up being pink, which was a great look!) and you couldn't get the back end to remain stable through the corners no matter how you drove it, the chasis was truely aweful and couldn't even handle the 8v power so the 16V must've been worse :dontknow: oh and was consistantly getting broken into it was eventually stolen 8)
To make all of the above worse, I sold my 1st MK1 gti to raise the funds to buy it (largely cos I really liked the digital dash) - the joys of being simple!
Even thinking about it is raising my blood pressure

I can't decide between 2, an A series Metro GTA, or my last Corrado.
The Metro was mechanically sound but the sunroof leaked and no matter how many times I tried to reseal it it still leaked in. I used to work a late night followed by an early morning shift at a petrol station and always forgot to cover the seats when I got home after the night shift. I'd stumble out to the car in the morning, jump in and if it had rained in the night I'd get a soaking wet behind. It must've happened about 10 times! :redfaced: I managed to make a £20 profit after a years motoring so it didn't end too badly.
The Corrado was a blind purchase off ebay and was a proper dog. You could feel every notch on the steering rack through the power steering, every gear struggled to engage without a big clunk, the door check strap had ripped out of the passenger door so it slammed shut when you needed it to stay open, it had filler round a door handle from a pry-in etc etc. I ran it for 6 months over winter and managed to break even on it but only just!
