Just so people don't get to worried, some cars may show up as having no info against them. Think this is fault of the system and not that your car is a ringer 8O

I got logged in (Drew, not happy about my username being hijacked for passwords like that!      )

They had no info for either of my originally-UK Golfs. I figured this was because they were both exported out of the UK In 1999, but they did have info on my '93 Audi 80, although this was also exported (in 2003).
By the way, the manufacture date on the Audi was also wrong - was really made in March '93, registed in June '93, but RAC reported it made in Dec '93!

I'm quite happy to find out that the first ever mk1 I built is still registered, I spent ?4K on that car when I was just a poor student and was offered it back for just ?300 when an old granny ran into the back of the new owner about 4 months after I sold it on but didnt have the space to take it.

Guy told me he was going to scrap it  :cry:  but obviously he never, its even showing the colour change cause its down as blue when it was originally white and I never bothered changing this after I had it painted.

Thats my little story anyway  :mrgreen: might do a nation wide hunt now for my old mk1, would be interesting to see how its changed.

Hmm, my first car a 1982 polo had it's last change of owner in 2002.

I wonder if it's gone to the car yard in the sky?

well that's good to hear.. I swapped it around 1997 and if I remember correctly I was the 5th owner, replaced the front end on it (my dad had to do the welding) but apart from that the shell was perfect!

And it was originally white, I sprayed most of it in primer so expect they've gone for the mexico look!  


Let's hope the golf lasts that long if not longer!

the private plate 'SAW 40' that used to be on my black GTI is now on a Honda HR-V VTEC 4WD.

My first car (Mk1 Polo GLS) used to be on here, but has recently disappeared… :cry:

Finally I remembered reg number of my old mk1 (first car i ever owned) PYM723Y has no record, which I expect means its been scrapped. Shame as all it needed was new cills and a new front wing as the rest was solid. I stupidly gave it away to someone  8O  as then I didn't know anyone that could do that sort of work for me.  

It was a proper little bargain though, 1.3 CL model, ?175 with a years MOT, had it for a year, over 10,000 miles of relatively trouble free motoring!! I then brought a metro    of all the cars to buy!! (well I was young, and they were cheap!!)

Nice to see the details on my current golf are correct though!
