If its any help and im not over experienced with these things but my girlfriends car had the identical problem may be a touch worse, ran great till fuel demand got up near tops of rev range then started missfiring, i pulled my hair out , changed pump, fiddled with metering head changed injector seals etc and it turns out it was the warm up regulator on the front of the block. When i took it off it was full of grit and rubbish against the small mesh filter in one of the fuel connectors. I changed it anyway for a 2nd hand one and the car was fixed. Hope this helps, good luck.
