Can you not dig the melted plastic out so the contact arm is free?
I’d also consider why this has melted.
Could it be a dry joint that’s intermediary contact on off so caused arcing?

A cold solder joint can cause a component to over heat, the heat causes connectivity issues that when it cools off it can reconnect.
Trust me, this cold solder speil isn't my first rodeo with wonky circuitry…. Been playing with Electronics since about 1971, and cars before that.
And being Male don't mean a thing, now blonds are another matter as I have 4 blondes in my life and some days I would rather be hit in the head with a wrecking ball. One of them is a Male. Electrics are logical, and have defined rules. Blonde's not so much.
