MOT Failure - fractured bulkhead

Post

Keeping me up at night!

Ah yea, it probably needs a weld then.
Sounds like you should have a new clutch, friction plate and cable at the same time - they do get stiff over the years.
Where are you?

Cheers,
Ade

Yeah that's what the garage are suggesting. I'm down in the New Forest, south Hampshire.

Ah miles away, was going to suggest a guy in the midlands, Bert, but a bit too far away for you. I would suggest giving Richard at Crazyquiff's crazyquiff in Oxford a ring - if nothing to get a price comparison - he is the best in the County for Mk1's by miles.

Cheers,
Ade

Mate downsouth, literally in your neck of the woods, uses KFK, 8 Sway Station, Lymington SO41 6BA

1983 Mars Red 1.8 Golf GTI
1987 Alpine White 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

I welded the cracks up on mine and welded a brace inside up to the rain tray like there is behind the servo, hopefully will stop it cracking again.
