Engine doesn't start
Hi Ivan, that's good news, weldone!
At least you also replaced the solenoid in the process as they do eventually go faulty and need replacing.
Glad you got it sorted and now able to drive your car.
Keep the old solenoid in the glove compartment in case you ever need it.

Hey Brinz,
Here Ivan again,
And again a problem with my MK1…
Since these morning, he stops working in the stationary rpm….
But in high rpm , no problem…..
Have you a hint for me, in what direction i can find the problem….and the solution ???

Hi Ivan, sounds like the jets maybe blocked in your carb. Only way to check is to disassemble, the maybe dirt inside. The jets need to be clear, they have a pin size hole, even a microscopic blockage can cause idle issues.
Worth buying a gasket kit for the carb and giving it a good service. Also check the rubber mount gasket where the carb sits on to ensure there is no cracking…..over time with engine heat damage the rubber mount cracks. Shine a light through and see if any cracks visible as difficult to see as its black coloured rubber.
