So this morning a crew of 5 drained the trench, dug out the collapsed material, reinforced the banks which were looking dodgy and filled with concrete .
We took out 4 bulk bags worth of mud and 10 woven bags! crazy!
We now have:
And covered it up for good measure to stop direct raining from disturbing the bank

This seems to be a conversation between Ian
borednow
and I .
I guess digging isn't very interesting, but starting to come out of the ground now.
Got home to more problems last night
But today mum and dad have played a blinder. Whilst I've been at work they have got this done:
and all covered up from yet more rain

Got a few days off towards the end of November to knock the walls up
Hopefully water tight by Christmas I hope

Got the centre levelled out and starting to put the 803 sub base in. That's one bag in there. 3 to go!
Lots of bricks arrived today
Going to put the rest of the sub base in this weekend and get it levelled

MOT sub base in and compacted , proper firm. easily have 5" of room for reinforced concrete to match the existing floor level of the garage.
Folks are on holiday now but have materials arriving for the concrete and walls this week. Week commencing the 19th November we will have the visqueen and steel mesh in and preparing for the concrete to go in that weekend.

Looks like you a solid job there fella. Are you a builder by trade as you look like you know what you are doing.
I'd like a second garage, but other being able to wield a spade (and a spanner of course) I'm not sure I'd know where to start!
Keep it up!

Cheers chap, no I'm just a keen DIYer. I have friends and family who are in the trade or very knowledgeable about building which has helped out a load in the past.paceman said

Back on it today.
Prepped everything for laying the concrete on Saturday, I'm hoping the weather improves from the forecast!
Bought a window and door, lintels arrive Monday. Should have everything now bar the roof obligatory pics

You just now need the local cat to walk across the slab and leave it's paw prints across it and it's complete.
