the timing and fueling needs to be set up spot on by someone in the know
if not the engine will be toast in know time
as for the cold starts is the wur working and set up and clean
and does your coldstart work ok

Hi sporttrucker,
The car stood for 4 years. I had the fuel drained and fitted new fuel filter, I don't know what the CO reading was but I did see the Mechanic fiddling with an allen key in the metering head to adjust when the last lot of work including the MOT. I have also put 'LIQUI MOLY' injection cleaner in, (made in Germany), it came recommended?

Hi vwoldmad1,
I'm no mechanic, 'wur' set up and clean, what is this, I'll get someone to check if you let me know? Likewise the cold start, I've no idea what I need to look for, any advice, I have my Haynes here.

I think one of the next tasks is to get the timing checked, (think it will be ok), and the CO checked, (this I feel could be the problem)?

Any help appreciated, thanks all

yes the timing needs to be set up spot on
the WUR warm up regulator can be carefully taken apart and cleaned and checked for correct fuel pressure
the wur regulates the cold and warm fuel pressures so if this is broken you would get all sorts of starting problem
I'm no expert but ive hard a few gtis in the past
also the cold start valve helps with cold starting
its in the Haynes manual
