ACTUALLY - before i continue removing all of the sound-deadening (?) material beneath the driver and passenger seats - is this a good idea?? Is it worth it?
Any thoughts from those who have done it, or otherwise?

Great project, personally i doubt id be brave enough to takeout all the wiring, I can just about manage a 3 pin plug. Kudos to you for a thorough restoration

I'd remove the deadening, just in case there's rust hiding under there

Made a quick but sturdy frame so that I could remove the front running gear prior to paint strip:
