74 Senegalrot Swallowtail - Project G40

Resurrected the paint to a degree.

Found a block heater to keep the heart warm.

Put it back together, lowered it, put some shoes on it, sorted all the electrics and got her running very nicely.
Possibly ready for mot and registering now.

Yo dudes, so it passed its mot only needing 2 front flexys for the brakes.

It started coughing and spluttering driving it home leaving me confused for the last week, but I've just fitted elec ignition and clean up a few bits and she seems to run a little better.

Docs now sent to get her registered so exciting times for me.

Also grabbed a mk2 off Faz above to keep me even busier.

Forgive me lord, for I have sinned.

The numberplate has convinced me to purchase my friends AGU 20vt setup.

Bye bye small block.

Ok so scratch my last post, I can't do it to the old girl…. the mk2 is getting the 20vt.. I can't chop it about.

I took the mk1 for its first legal drive yesterday, its looking a bit rough. But I love it… currently wearing the mk2 steels as they have legal tyres.

I still would like to get hold of a little 1.3 engine for it, just for more poke…. the 1.1 is so horrible.

Love the look of this car!
Something just occurred to me I had never noticed before that some of the very early cars had the Volkswagen and Golf badges on opposing sides.

Presume yours has original holes in the tailgate lid which would prove this was the case?

Anyone else spot that?
Other early cars shown here also had that configuraiton.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Yes bud, swallows had the badges the other around, my tailgate indeed proves this.

Maybe other series 1's did too, not sure when they flipped em around?  :)

Not done a lot. Soundproofed it, had it notched and rolled. Rebuilt the carb and renewed the ignition system.

Put it on banded 13's too.
