Tell you what I reckon, well from the pics that you did more than alright there.  :ocf_emoticons__eusa_clap:
Not only that but you're in the process of saving another one!

Just wish I had the space and time over here to do the same but I'd need a very large workshop because I'd be like an Animal Rescue Center for MK1's.
There's a lot over here!  :(

Keep the pics coming please.

God you're lucky, I get crucified if I'm found to be looking at this Club website.
Let alone going near a Mk1 or God forbid working or driving one!

She is kind of into cars, which I am partly to blame for! She's got her own mini & a 2006 beetle cabrio! Haha

Find a way of getting it the 30 miles home to my house!! I did consider booking it for an mot with my mate and then once it fails driving it home! But think that's too risky, although I'd know what it needed then haha!! The interior needs to be stripped out so I can assess floors and dry it all out. Roof is no good!!

You did well, enjoy your project

Good find fella and an absolute bargain for £250, looks like she will clean up just fine, my wee mate restores classic minis for a living so I've seen first hand how bad they can be lol this should be a breeze to you

Wow £250.00.
needs new roof for sure mate.
Rust on  rear cable channel needs sorting etc.
Look for the 2 rubber Drains under the bonnet under the windscreen and poke them clean. Clean drain holes under the door bottoms too.
I like the colour.

Great you got her running too, I think you have a later interior fitted? but once you clean those drain holes you know there's no more water coming in there. The water comes down the blower motor opening behind the fusebox. So yep carpets out and aqua vac the seats. You'll need a new foam and a seat base for the drivers or have  a look out for a similar passenger seat and swap em over have a look here

Here's the really good news the rare wolfsburg steering wheel if in good condition is worth minimum £200….

So you're only down by £50.00 good work.

Thanks for all of that info chortle!! The plan for her is to try and get her on the road with minimum costs involved. I've got my own small gas mig welder, it's perfect for thin metal :) I will be more recomissioning than restoring for now. Want her on the road sooner than later :)

There are some electrical issues, which are wipers don't work & the heater fan doesn't blow either. So I'm assuming that is to do with the fuse box getting wet!

Morning everyone! She's finally back at mine!! Didn't get a chance to do much yesterday as I'm halfway through a workshop build (that's another story!) but I did take the carpet and apare wheel out of the boot, the rust there isn't as bad as I expected it to be! Nothing in the spare wheel well at all!! It's just on the rear valence! Both sills need attention, and she has rust in both rear quarters. Plus on the rear panel & front scuttle. I took the steering wheel cover off and saturated it in leather feed, & left the windows open all day to let her air out a little. Also just being curious I spun her over, to which she started and managed to move under her own power along my driveway until the carb started spitting fuel everywhere! Won't be doing anything today as we are now at my missus mums 120 miles away haha! My friends dad who picked up the car said I'm brave for thinking about doing it, which worried me a little! Hoping to get a good look at her this week or at the following weekend.
