yeah many people do, but I would rather keep the pot and put a restrictor in the return line like it would have had originally :)

To answer your question we did in fact try putting a welding tip into the return line from the swirl pot but it made no difference, the car would still cut out. I'm all for originality but  we have by passed the swirl pot completely and run a new fuel line straight from the fuel pump to the weber carb. The car now runs perfectly, idles perfectly and delivers full power. So we''l leave things like this. I know other people have had success with a restrictor in the return line from the swirl pot but it didn't work for us. I guess the answer is that you need to try all avenues till you find one that works on your engine. Must say though this forum and certain members are a goldmine of useful information and knowledge.

Hmmmmm I will try running it without but for now I have had to take mine off the road  :'( atleast I can go through it all properly now.
