Sorry guys, I shall be at work next weekend so I'm not going to be there.

I'm currently debating stripping the car down with a view to a full respray over the winter. I've been offered a good price if I do all of the prep work myself and all they need to do is paint it for me…

Hi mate, let me know if your free one weekend i'll come round take a look, does it need paint? looks really good in your photos!

Also Scott and I have split down his old cabby for respray and done a few bits on others so if we can lend a hand just let us know and if were free we can pop over

Cheers

Rich

Cheers Rich, you may regret making that offer!!

It's got a couple of small rust spots that I want to do something about and the paint isn't perfect (still good for a car of this age). I reckon that for a bit of effort it is probably better to spend £500 making it all look perfect than £200 getting the rust spots done and then having the painted bits looking good and the unpainted not so!

I also quite like the idea of stripping the car completely to understand how it all works and fits together.

I'd then fit a new mohair good when it went back together

When is the next meet and I'll try to come along with the car (if it's not raining!!)

Cheers

Hi all,
Seriously considering starting a search for a Corrado VR6. Only problem is I would have to sell the Golf! Anyone want to offer some words of wisdom on the subject?

In favour of the Golf - it's a Sportline! Low miles, no depreciation, relatively easy project to bring it up to show condition.
In favour of a Corrado - it's fast, very fast! Could use it as a daily drive, other half isn't keen on the Golf but likes Corrados, wouldn't feel obliged to garage it (so could buy another m/bike)!

Don't know what to do!! Help!! :(

Although I just sold mine? It's not the time to sell.
I was fortunate and tbh wasn't expecting it to sell, so although happy it did sell, I'm also gutted 😁

Ah Frazer didn't think you'd get another itch so quickly .. I'll say you'll prob have no bother findin a buyer as yours is a good example just a matter of lettin your head over rule your heart …

91Jreg Sportline (now gone) For now 88 Ereg Mk2 16v (monza blue ) (now its gone too)Numerous mk1 tintops I  should never have sold 😰  Oh and a TDI  Touran as a daily ….latest toy mk5 Gti (showing my age) had to go serious money pit ,now cruising a Caddy Van

Ah, it's not up for sale yet!! I may yet keep the Golf, after all they won't go down in value now!
I'm sure if I stop looking at ebay and the like then I'll stop wanting to buy more cars/bikes etc!!!

Andy - I've seen you on the Corrado site! i have a clear idea of what I would like (Corrado wise) and they're not that common so I'm not sure I'll have money left over for a MK1 as well!! I'm keen to know what my car is worth though…?!

Aaron - thanks for the message mate. I've had a PM from someone else about it as well. Not sure I'm selling yet, but I may put together a detailed description of my car and if someone offers me enough to make it too difficult to refuse then who knows…!

Cheers

I know that feeling well!! OH isn't keen on the golf and has always wanted to drive a VR6 Corrado but at the same time doesn't want me to sell the golf as she knows I've always wanted one!

I used to be indecisive… now I'm not so sure!
