Cheers mate

It's going to be the daily although its turned out to good to ruin in the winter but il use it wisely and hide it from the salt.

Still have the underside to freshen up and repair the rear jacking points. Hoping to mot it within a couple weeks thou for its near 7 year outing

Well had the pickup on the road for a while now and enjoying it. Had loads if wee bits to do to get it sound since the mot and still got a couple minor things I want to sort.
Mot

Emissions were all good so wasn't bad considering it needed almost everything to start with..
None of the lights worked to begin with so adjusting the headlight was and good one to start with.

Rear wheel cylinders/new shoes and a couple spring kits cured the brakes

The rest were easy fixed so earned a pass with no advisorys😃

Then the list below was done with mostly vag parts
Exhaust rubbers
Timing belt
Water pump
Temp sender (euro)
Thermostat
Oil change (quantum) and filter
New radiator (euro)
The old one decided to spill its guts 20miles from home, so that was a dodgy drive back…
Flushed it then it was back to duties

eBay find

Got the plates from the local skoda garage and the surrounds are the Czech Republic factory ones.

Part of the glass broke for the truckman roof and it needed a handle and lifters etc, so managed to find and take a punt on a ford one from the same year from Cornwall for £50 delivery £65! The rear glass is £365 alone the rest is nla

Gave the Corrado G60 i had sitting as part payment for the paintwork… Do regret it a but I would never have got round to it and I was hoping it would get painted.

Few pics of how it's sitting before the Rms come off

Back seats open in this one

Found another that's just been bought locally so stopped for a nosey

Had a cover made for the back from a guy on the skoda forum just need to send a cheque😳 pigeon carrier

Also have new hardwood straps on the way cut to the same spec for the bed.

Seems to be a marmite mobile    :haha:

It's good to save these old motors from the scrap heap. Even better when they turn out better than they were new :)

It's a great wee motor to drive! Was like a Rolls Royce before I lowered it  but I just tell the mrs it's like her wearing high heels, nice to look at but not as comfy!

Well it's been a year since its been on the road and all has been going well.. Apart from a genuine vag water pump collapsing after 6k.. Which ment the timing belt etc had to be done again but ll is good now!

Still been tweaking with it over the time with wheels and small things..

Bike hauler

Got some hardwood cut identical to the original

Had some 17s on it that Iv had laying about for a while

Was keeping my eye out for something different on the wheel side and took a punt with a set I seen on gumtree

16x7 fronts
16x9 rears

Trial fit, was still unsure and needed 5mm spacers on the rear to clear the struts.

Had some custom centre badges made up to the dimensions needed

Wee trim

Fitted

Had the rear plinth colour coded and a cover made from the fun club

Really chuffed how they turned out and will stick with them for a while

Also fitted a wee eBay find

Need to tweak the angle slightly but was surprised at the quality of the image with it..

Not sure what to do to it next…?

Like the door lights - thought you had gone and sprayed your drive for a moment!  Wheels really suit the car, miles away from the original yellow ones.
