Clearing 30 odd years of tat out from underneath, pumped up all the tyres and they're holding air. Vented discs all round, 4 pots on front and 2 pots on the rear which suprised me! Just a case of bleeding the clutch and lowering it…or so I thought.
I was a bit worried that being jacked up on one corner for so long would have distorted the chassis but the shut lines on the car are perfect. The clutch pedal was not moving, initial thoughts were master cylinder was seized as there was absolutely zero movement. Removed it and after applying a small amount of pressure to the rod end that connects to the pedal it squirted fluid across the garage! Reinstalled it but it was not building any pressure whatsoever in the system. Thought a line may have been blocked so attempted to purge the system with a compressor from the slave cylinder, however the master cylinder had been incorrectly repaired at some point and the small washer was incorrectly installed allowing for the metal pin to pop out of its socket, reapplying the pedal promptly broke both pin and master cylinder. Luckily both were repairable which is just as well as a new MS for one of these is daft money.
Also, had a chance to look underneath the car, the floorpan seems solid (with the except of the O/S which I knew was rotten), Both inner sills are gone at the front, but for peace of mine all 6 sills will be replaced.
The original metallic turd brown is also slowly growing on me….

I actually really like the colour, it's age appropriate for the car, it looks like it's got a little orange flip too, in the right light

I quite like the brown, period for the car. Fuzz would say 'Keep it original!'

Been slowly cleaning up the garage, scrapped the Escort that was blocking it in along with half a ton of scrap iron, underneath the car is (slowly) getting free, next step is to free up the brakes and pull it out, happy that the chrome has come out well so far. Hopefully next update will show her moved from her spot.

UPDATE: Yeah it's still very very rusty.
BUT the front brakes are freed off, clutch is being a royal pain so need make up a braided line from the MC to the SC apparently. So clutch and clean up some more stuff around it and jobs a good 'un.
Oh yeah, and I cleaned it up a bit, turns out you CAN polish a turd, especially if it's metallic and has questionable rustproofing measures.
