Car sound deadening?

Anyone know how thick the OE sound deadening is, mine is missing, not sure whether to get 6mm or 10mm foam

I got some new footwell deadening from newton commercial. Not sure on the thickness though.

Oh well, the parts were only a few quid so not the end of the world.

I could be wrong but I think the Newton soundproofing is thinner than the original stuff. It's no issue in itself but if it is too thin, then you may find the carpet wont sit right and pull out from the inner sills.

Do a quick search on the forum I'm sure someone must have commented on this before

Yep thats exactly whats happened in the wifes all the sides have pulled down, obviously had a leak at some point and the sound dead was thrown
