How to remove them?

Right then just found those ruddy clips and ordered some at what seems to be sensible price.
Part numbers, Audi: 16186729901C , Volkswagen: N0385491
(watch out for the 16186 part number because it also relates to different clips for a MK2)

Ten clip for £3.15 including post to the UK.
(found another company charging £7.49 for 12 plus post)  :o

Well happy with that!
The company has two sets left if anyone is interested.

I ordered a set too - glad I did, looks like everyone jumped on this one!

Mike its just black or grey accoustic carpeting and carpet spray adhesive.

Simply, cut the carpet/matting to the size of the card plus a couple of inches spare right round, then spray the adhesive on the card and the carpet, leae for a minute and then carefully place the carpet onto the face of the card.
I then left it to go off for 30 mins and then turned it over and cut the extra and got it all neat to fold over the back of the card.

Then sprayed the edge of the back of the card and the extra hem of carpet and then folded it onto the rear of the card.

Then made holes where the clips go through and put them in.

I do not put the wee circular centres back into the clips when the cards are back in place, as they stay in place without them.

Al in the boot, including a new floor carpet as well, cost me £50ish iirc.
Looks great Chris and great right up - just bought that acoustic carpet now.
didnt bother with those clips on most recent link. That's a shocker

Right time for an update.
Yes as you all said, the pins do push out even if they don't look like they will (see top of the post) but thanks for that!

Now here's the kicker.
Yesterday morning I was working to remove the old lights on my Cabby, it was darn cold and windy but I thought it can't be that hard.
I was using an 8mm ring spanner and or a 3/8ths socket and racket to remove the four nuts from the right rear one.
Thought best to do the hardest side first!

I was working to remove the far bottom right nut first which was the most inaccessible of the four. (bottom right nearest the outside of the car)
When the 8mm socket slipped in my fingers and dropped down inside the 1/4 panel somewhere.  :P (my hands were to cold, I should have stopped but)
The socket was from a really good quality set I bought a very long time ago but I got over it because the goal was to fit the darn lights!
So I went a few miles and bought a replacement (not the same but).

Got back to the job in hand and you won't believe it. I did the very same thing again!  :P :P Straight down inside the 1/4 panel.
OK, enough is enough.

Went home and got a telescopic magnet.
Now here's the real kicker, the body of the car has a far stronger magnetic presence then the sockets I've dropped (they are magnetic).  O_o  O_o  O_o
The whole they have dropped down are far to small to even get a childs hand down inside let alone mine!
Not only that but of course the bodywork tappers to a very narrow point at the bottom.  :P

OK, maybe in hindsight I should have removed the roof 'Ram' first but…

So now what the Hell do I do?   :'(
I can't be the first, can I?  :o

Mike

I changed the lights and was really really really careful so managed ok BUT, when the dent guy came, he removed a rear light to usu the hole to get to the reqr quarter.

When he put the light back on he dropped the nut down the hole, so I have 3 nuts on my passenger side light next to the ram.

Sounds like the same as me kind of!  :(
But I have changed them in the last few minutes, what a pain in the butt that simple job is.  O_o

Anyhow, if you need a spare nut or two I have some so I can post them to you!
