cheers lads  :thumbs:finally getting closer

few last bits getting done ,
second floor support is now welded on
had some threads welding on so i can use p clips for the brake/fuel lines




then cut the hole so i can run the mk4 tower






he was taping up when i called in earlier so looks like stone chip will be going on soon ,
i said id called back in on friday , so ill grab more pics then

cheers brad, feels like im getting somewhere after this :lol:.
well the shell was stone chipped at the beginning of the week, and then had 2 coats of colours to all the underside and lower section or the bay
transport is booked for next thursday to get it back to mine ,
i sent my rear axle, stitch welded wishbones and lots of other parts down to leeds to be powder coated, there now ready and ill be collecting those on friday, ive got new parts landing daily so ill soon be able to start building bits up

liking the colour aswell

did you take a pic of the trailer in the back ground and go to the paint guy "i want it 2 shades lighter than that"  :lol:

Looks mint! Shame about all those old repairs though!

Are you keeping the heater with no scuttle? I keep thinking about cutting mine out but worried about all the fumes from the engine that everyone keeps saying about!

yeah deffo cant beat nice new powder coated bits

well im still waiting on some parts coming like suspension
fuel pipe, breather pipe.
mk2 stub axles, discs , bearings and rocco handbrake cables,

so while ive been waiting ive been on the hunt for bits at local scrappy

mk3 polo lift pump was had for £20



and ive passed this cabby in there a few times and its never crossed my mind,
ive been on the hunt for 100mm hubs and shafts recently and had prices of around 100 -125 posted
well today something twigged and i thought ffs the cabby

so quick trip to scrappy with tools , first thing measured them, bonus , 100mm, next bonus one was already off and sat in boot, other came off no probs

the biggest bonus £50 all in  :lol:

projects standing still and twiddling thumbs is awful  :'(

at least parts are starting to go back on  :thumbs:  sometimes any progress is good  :lol:

cheers matt, few more bits turned up from at pal at all german parts in leeds mk2 stub axles rear discs and bearings rocco 16v cables so will be starting the rear beam build up ones i find a rear anti roll bar finally got it off the dolly and onto axle stands so i could start the fuel tank excuse the tank, looks poo but its the glare and dust :o hub asseblies where blasted and had new hubs and bearing pressed in theyll be getting put on in a day or 2 also ordered fuel lined so i can start sorting fuel pump stuff out

rear disc parts turned up, along with arb parts so that was the first bits to get fitted

rear beams and coilovers all fitted now, no pics tho as its abit tight down that end of the garage

g60 discs on





just grabbed a set of g60 steelies so i can get it back on the ground ,  next job is to sort the fuel pump fitment and lines , fab the wilwood pedal box that im ordering

well few more bits turned up

fuel filler neck , front engine mount ( cheers mark )
and swirl pot i won on ebay, just gotta sus where to mount it as its got a diameter or 120mm so placement is going to be tricky on the underside



wilwood pedal box



cambelt kit and engine mounts



started fitting the fuel neck and running hose for the breather,



and a quick shot of underneath as i was under there looking for somewhere to mount swirl pot, i was thinking where the accumulator bolts but i think its a bit wide for there and if i go over something in the road itll get hit and ripped off
