The plans simple :) take the shell fit engine in the boot done ;)

Yeah I didnt think it would be your priority
this reminds me of a lupo which had a vr6 in the back although that also had a vr6 in the front and he put nos on each vr and last I saw he was about to twin turbo each one  O_o

Any thoughts on this fibreglass dash

My personal opinion, don't do it. Even in a stripped out racer the standard dash can look good, with more gauges or whatever takes your fancy.

That said, it's down to you - go for it if it's the look you're looking to achieve with the car

Got a good few hours on the golf this weekend

Put some supports into the bay accords to the wishbones
These will also become a base for my alloy fuel tank

Tigged up well for some old steel

Windscreen out
Just cut the rubbers

Next was the start on the cage but first I had to remove more from the interior

After a few measurements and some working out for the bends I got the hoop right in 1 go :) well pleased

Hoop fitted and then the side/door bars

Next up I trialled a seat to work out where the harness bar should be
Also got the roof bar in

Put a dash bar in which got lifted later on
And a start on the door bars

Near enough perfect fitted

2mm gap :(

Another bargain my mate bought a 1.8t engine from Spalding and the seller had this £10 well chuffed

Wiper removed and a front view

And some dirty rott

Second door bar gone in

Another try with the fibreglass dash

And onto the bar that goes from shock turret to the main hoop a 3 piece nightmare this took hours to perfect

Looks so simple but getting the 2 main door bars in line perfect was a nightmare worth it but still annoyed me until it was right

With me being good part of 6ft tall high door bars was out the window which slightly effect the angle of the 3rd bar going to the shock turret nothing major or noticeable from the outside but again slightly annoying

Next up was some fancy tie in plates to join the cage with the body

Usually we have punch and flare tools but with my cage running as close as it is to the frame work they was too big :(
So I ended up punching a 17mm hole in the sheet and improvising

Good old press and ball hammer and 5tons worth of pressure

Not bad

And finally some pictures outside

Think upto now I've put 15 metres of steel into the cage lol

Next week will be doing more cage work and hopefully have some engine bits coming to strip and rebuild :ocf_emoticons__clap:

Nothing wrong with mandraulic at least you control when to stop

I've bent 10 hoops one after the other same setting and they will always be a couple out  :P

Hairyarse it's still just a option at the minute they also do a full carbon version
At the minute I'm still hoping to use the original dash just a tad trimmed
