Evening all
Got a start on the golf today up and onto the rotating jig and had a test roll
It's definatly out of balance as it is but hopefully it won't be on there long
Got on with starting to strip to as much off as possible before the body work starts next weekend
Interior de cluttered
The floor pan is solid well pleased so it's just the under seal to remove to get it to bare metal
Old engine bays has loads to come off but here it is as it stands
Old door cards
De badged and side strips off
And a nice little bonus of some uprated neuspeeds anti roll bars
Rear will be useless but will be refurbed and sold

It's that time of the week again
Got a few hours on the golf today
But my material I ordered weeks ago for the roll cage has been delayed an addition 2 weeks
But that gives me time to start on smoothing the front end and mounting rad and fuel tank
My vr6 engine and box turned up
Started with the grinder to remove all the un needed parts
And here's a quick before and after shot
I will be stripping the full bay back to bare metal aswell

Yesterday's progress was good
Got a start on the vr6 lump
Taking inlet and exhaust manifolds off
Well pleased how clean the engine is 83k covered
Back onto the shell I got some more of the engine bay de cluttered and the wings off
Which was a struggle with there being a good inch of sealant on the inner seam
Dash removed and all the wiring and tucked aside
Tried a mini hoop but it's a tad narrow up top so got new measurements sorted to fit
Was also working with a work mate on his dimma kitted 205 which is also going mid engine rwd
How it's currently sat

Oh wow that's different, bet that goes well - I've driven a T5R in a heavy Volvo estate and that was brutal, this must be insane!!

Back at it again today
With 1 task in mind knot wheeling
Starting with the inner archs
30 mins later
Nice bit of detail again
Solid a tiny patch near shocker well pleased
Then into driver side
Along the front slam panel
Door shut
Into the first patch of rot
Hoping this doesn't bleed much into sill and floor, either way nothing a tig welder and new sheet won't fix
Front panel looked mint
Until I hit a huge patch of filler
With this nice detail slap bang in the middle lol
Front panel getting there
Rot free all around
Started in the passenger strut
And drivers
Every bit of bodywork upto and I've used 1 knot wheel
On another good note material turned up for the cage and engine frame
Well pleased with today's progress cannot wait for 2mos

Nice work mate. Doesn't look too bad at all tbh. This is gonna be a mean car when done. Keep up the good work.

Here's my progress from Saturday
It's not much as we was without power for 2 hours whilst the new power lines went in for our cnc lathe
I removed the steering rack and then carried on with the knot wheeling
Well impressed how it turned out
Then went onto starting the passenger arch
So much underseal it took ages and then demolished the wheel
And with the consumable shop being shut until Monday I went back onto the interior
Finished removing the full loom dash and steering rack
And moved the engine from middle of the main workshop out the way
And finally here's the turbo size in comparison to the vr6 engine

I'm some what confused by this progress!
Surely getting that VR6 mounted in the back takes way more priority over removing any insignificant bay paint and brackets or have I missed something?

Priority is to get the engine and cage fitted bud
This work was started prior to engine turning up and a 2 week delay in the cage material lead to finding something else to do whilst waiting
Material turned up late Friday and was without power to chop and bend Saturday
It's all progress bud
Plans for this Friday and Saturday is to start the cage can't wait

This is going to be an awesome build,
ive never seen that driver badge on the steering wheel, has it been stuck on or something? as mine and any that i have seen were just a plain badge
Cheers,
Matt
