Time I did a thread on my car ….. ive owned it since 2007/2008.
This is what it looked like last time it was on the road in 2008, it then went into storage for 5 years as other commitments and projects had to get finished.
So Sept 2013 was timie to pull the old girl out and carry out the G60 conversion id always wanted to do…….keeping 8v engine with more power the car deserved.
This is the pic after I pulled it out of storage after 5 years and gave it a wash……
First jobs and after a couple of busy days…..
Fitted the engine and plumb in etc
its running a stage 4 charger, ported head, cam, charge cooler, 02Y gearbox with quaife diff etc.
brakes - fitted G60 280mm with updated discs and pads, rear disc set up and larger servo.
Mongoose stainless exhaust
Fully poly bushed throughout
Eibach anti roll bars and front lower strut brace
Car is already sitting on weitec coilovers
Next was loom and fit gauges in a carbon panel where the astray normally lives and a wideband gauge with the factory vdo's
Rear strut brace and a good tidy up of the interior
This is how it sits now, on its winter wheels so I can refurb the RS's
Engine bay … Finished up charge cooler and fitted a diesel clutch cable.
It's all up and running now and just needs the loom tidying up and a small electrical issue with the lights sorted…..have a sparky coming the weekend to sort it.
Engine bay will get detailed over winter….powder coated rocker cover and paint that bloody alternator!!
In the meantime will crack on with refurbing these
Still quite a few more jobs to do before it's fully on the road but drove it today and put a smile on my face!

That conversion didn't take you long mate did it. Nice work. Agree about the alternator though. Good luck over the winter doing all the little bits

Blimey! It was really nice before you put it into storage, by the time you've finished it'll be a showstopper. Nice one mate.

Nice. Should be lots of fun with the G60!
I like what you've done with creating a dial pod to fit instead of the ashtray - might have to use that idea myself

Thanks guys.
BBS RS's are 15's…8.5" rears and 7.5" fronts.
Power wise is around 220-230bhp which makes it great to drive…..the noise is amazing!
More progress over the last couple of days, full service including all belts and fluids etc.
Brakes and coilovers were completely stripped down, cleaned and greased before refitting……then had the tracking/geo set up.
Brakes were very spongy with the pedal occasionally going to the floor so changed the master cylinder…..still a tad too much pedal travel for my liking so im thinking it needs another bleed.
Then a good mop and polish to bring the paint up.

Bit more progress today.
Sorted exhaust out as it was knocking on rear beam and also sorted my lights out
Wired in the looms for the electric seats and ran them under the carpet .. Quick hoover
And finally the seats fitted in
Sorry not the best pics but will take some once car is all washed and polished.

Managed to spend some time on the old girl today …. Had to evict my porka out the garage incase it rained!
Internal wiring and fuse box were a mess
Abit of magic from Mario (fro on here) and its better then new!
New stereo went in
Just waiting on some green bulbs for my autometer gauges.
Hopefully finishing up the last bit of wiring tomorrow.
