Anyone know how to take the S1 dash apart?? I want to get the the speaker.

The stereo clicks into life and light up but there is no sound coming out the speaker…. not even static i want to check the speaker and wiring :)

Wow! I've LOVED looking at these pics! My love of the VW Golf started because my dad had a Golf GLS (SEM 140T) in a deep green colour. I managed to write it off for him in around 1990 due to an engine fire. Despite always looking for the same model, i've never actually seen another GLS since, so was great to come across this one.

Lovely car!

Lovely looking car you have, I thought in 1978 the GLS had plastic bumpers with front headlight washer jets as you seem to have a blanking plug in your front wing?
